In order to maintain Catholic, excellent, and vital schools the Office of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago has recommended that schools adopt Boards of Specified Jurisdiction. St. Matthias School was among the first cohort of schools to begin this process, and it continues to serve our school and community. We believe that this Board increases the collaboration among parents, parishioners, alumni, and leaders within the neighborhood, business, and professional communities. Our goal is to ensure that St. Matthias School provides the best possible education and spiritual formation for our students.
The Board of Specified Jurisdiction focuses on the following areas: Institutional Advancement, Mission Effectiveness, Finance, Policy/Planning and Facilities.
The Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm. Meetings are open, and all are encouraged to attend.
There are several committees focusing on various aspects of our school. We are always looking for parents and community members who would be willing to serve on these committees. The committees cover topics related to finance, fundraising, development and athletic programming. The Board knows that there is a wealth of talent and experience among our community, and we hope to draw on that to build these committees. Please reach out to one of the Board members listed below to learn more.
